CHILDREN'S HEALTH ADVOCACY INTERN

Part-Time Position | Based in Nashville, TN | Unpaid internship

For over 28 years, we at the Tennessee Justice Center (TJC) have been standing with Tennessee families and helping them access basic necessities of life. We believe that all our neighbors have value and dignity, that all deserve the opportunity to thrive, and that our laws and public policy should reflect these shared values. Every day our courageous team works hard on behalf of and in partnership with Tennessee individuals, families, and communities.

We are currently seeking interns to assist our children’s health policy team in their efforts to improve the health of all Tennessee children through education, advocacy and public policy. We educate community partners and advocates through in-person and virtual trainings, education materials, and our monthly newsletter. We represent individual clients, including children and families, who need assistance to appeal a denial of medical services or enrollment under TennCare (Medicaid), CoverKids (CHIP), CHOICES, or ECF CHOICES.

As a children’s health policy intern, you will help develop creative ways to engage the public, promote our programs and trainings, produce written content such as handouts, blogs, and social media posts, research issues impacting children’s health, or assist individual clients. This is an ideal position for recent graduates or undergraduate students who wants to understand how communities can hold their government accountable while learning about children’s health policy.

To Apply: Send us your cover letter and resume via email to sstrizalkouski@tnjustice.org. Please include "Children's Health Advocacy Intern" in the subject line of the email. This is an unpaid internship.
